Substituting plastic for metal reminds me of folks thinking they can repair cut tire casing fabrics using crazy glue.

In each case, we're talking orders-of-magnitude reduction in strength, no?
Yeah probably not a good idea, just wanted to see if someone had personal experience, since it's free and it feels good to make something yourself

Looking on ebay I found that "adapters" are quite a bit cheaper, more like $10, so, cost being the same, is there any advantage to buying a clamp-on model over getting the adapter? Also, does anyone have any idea what my tube diameter should be? Lastly, is this the right model for the adapter (supposing I have a 31.8mm tube)?
