I too use it for loaded commuting. I just retired one after about 3000 miles on it, but I'm a heavy rider and before switching to better tires got flats all the time on the streets I ride on, so other users could probably get a lot more miles out of them. The T-Serv Pro-Tex has a more rubbery feel to it and feels a more cushiony on the front where I use them, compared to the Vittoria Randoneur Pro's and Schwalbe Marathons I now run as rear tires on my commuter. Similar to my experience with the more rubbery Continental Gatorskins (26" x 1 & 1/4), the Panaracers just eventually got a shredded appearance to them from all the punctures and partial punctures* they incurred from all the tiny rock shards and bits of glass on the streets I ride on. I think the more rubbery tires are more likely to pick up this kind of road debris and more likely to be damaged by it, but I like the feel of the these tires and so am okay with getting ~3000 miles out of one on the front. Their rubbery, cushiony ride really helps on the rough roads I roll on.
* Most of these were partial penetrations, I think I got maybe four flats on that tire in over a year of commuting nearly daily, but I worry that these nicks in the tire will pick up the little rocks and shards of glass that always seem to cause my flats, whatever tire I am running.
If I didn't already have another T-Serv Pro-Tex sitting in my stash, I probably would have got some more miles out of it, but when it got a flat recently I noticed it had so many little cuts in it that it looked like it was probably picking up shards into them despite my trying to glue them shut occasionally, so I just swapped it out for a spare I had handy.
My only gripe about the Panaracers is they tend to pick up little rocks in their tread, so about once a week I sit down with a screwdriver and pick them out as I'm worried my heavy self and load on front rack with eventually drive them through the tire. Still, I like them enough to persist with them, I really like how cushy they are. BTW, if you are looking at these in 26" be aware they tend to run a little smaller than their stated size. The 26 x 1.75" is somewhere between 1.4 and 1.6 inch really.
Now, all that said, I run Vittoria Randoneur Pros (26 x 1.5) fore and aft on my touring rig. They might not be as plush, but the Vittorias seem even more bombproof, which is really saying something. I think I feel like the sidewalls are stiffer on the Vittorias as well, so if I've got even more load than my daily commuting load** when I'm touring, that the tire won't deform so much under all that weight.
** I'm back in college and I carry my school books on the front rack.
