Also remember that you don't use each gear equally. Two or three of the gears could be worn way more than the others and you have to replace the whole thing.
roger that. i wasn't sure i had done the right thing until i really looked at the 4 gears i used most. the wear was immediately obvious. btw, the 'stretched' chain appeared to have gained 2 links!
