I'm not a weight weenie either, but its fun trying to stay light.
Not sure about 2013, but the 2012 Ultegra 17.3 lbs and rival was 17.6 stock....... If the choice was Ultegra or Rival, I'd do Rival instantly.

As for the Force - Rival, assuming 2013's same weight as the 2012 Rival.
We are subtracting a lot of weight with the wheel/tire upgrade.
Subtracting weight with the Specialized saddle
subtracting weight with the Force Crank.
(subtract around a pound)

The review I saw on the Force was 16.3

As for my Argument of the two
Cost is the same $ ($24 difference)
Weight is pretty much the same 16.3 - 16.6

I guess that really Drives the nail home on THSdrummer's argument. No where else could I upgrade the brakes/shifters/bars/stem/cassette/chain/seatpost for $24!

as for the fun in weight. same thing! try to lose .3 lbs for $24

I guess the Force wins because it's doing both for $24.

The only thing that could change is Price... better deal on Rival, better deal on wheels/hubs as good as rs80's for less $ and Possibly finding a better deal than $231 for the Force Crank/chainrings.
