hi everyone, and sorry Veneer for jumping into your thread but since everyone here is local i would just like to ask some questions. I just start bicycling from Capital expressway and 101 to SJSU for the past two weeks. Since i am new to commuting on a bicycle, i try to bike on the sidewalk most of the time but still keep getting close to being hit a couple of times from people who keep barging out from their driveway or the inside street w/o looking. my questions are how do you ride safely on the street and when should you ride on the sidewalk? Also how do i avoid getting flat tires from all the debris on the ground? i had both of my tires punctured on the first day. I never realized how dirty our city is until now.
