My feeling was right the caliper from bolt to pad measures 55mm. I need 65mm. Compared a 700c and my existing tores brake track is exactly 10mm further inward compared to the 700c. If the wheel you are currently using is a 27", then a 700c wheel will NOT solve your problem. A 700c wheel will be smaller in diameter than your 27" wheel and the brake track will require a brake with at least 4mm more reach, not less.
