My exact conclusion, well stated. It took alot for me to keep this bike all these years, and not give it up to a Fixie builder or kid who never watched the Olympics in his lifetime. Just wish I could nail down some more info. like actual frames made, and was this a potential Olympic left-over like I was told. I remember an old bike shop on Beach Blvd. way down in Huntington Beach about a mile from the ocean called Carnivale's or something like that, and I got my rims and some of the Gruppo from there at the time. That owner told me the same story about left-over frames from the Olympics. I haven't seen more than 2-3 of this exact Frameset and none from 1984. Makes me crazy .......
