Tubes work across a wide range of tire sizes. I seriously doubt you'll have any problem and yes you can patch it. If you don't believe it, try taking the tube out and putting a few pounds of air in it. It will swell up like a poison pup and get many times bigger than the tire.

When you buy a new tube, they will not state they are for a specific size tire. They will have a pretty good range of tires which they will work with.
