I was thinking 89 maybe an with a 6 speed so they used the older style shifters. The black label biopace HP matches the rings that came with my 1989 apex.

the thing that i find the strangest is the brake levers look like XT.. they have the rubber covers where the cables connect. I can't see if they are SLR.. I don't think I see the SLR sticker on them. If they were SLR they would be 89, but the sticker can come off.
