I recently picked up an older steel road bike with campy chorus 8 speed components and I'm doing a resto-mod on it. I'm upgrading it to record 10 and i have all the piece I need minus a new crankset. Do I need to go out and buy a full replacement 10 speed crankset, or can I just swap the chainrings out on the current 8 speed crankset to 10 speed chainrings? I'd rather not spend $200 on a new crankset if I can make it work fine with a $50 set of rings.
