i've seen 2 people go on a similarly rapid trajectory. they're both younger than you, at least 1 is. they started on a local squad, got to a national developmental type squad (like hot tubes or trek/bontrager) and then the pro teams found them.

In NY there's generally a guy every other season or so who goes from 5-1 on a season or slightly more. No one has really gone to the show since hincapie. Many of them just burn out once their meteoritic rise stops. So it is doable for guys with talent.
