I've been riding my Marin Larkspur for a while but I recently tried out my friends single speed bike and I really enjoyed the way it rode. The ride was just way smoother and it was more fun to operate. Also, my Marin is way too small for me. It has a 17.5" frame and I am 5'10". Was thinking about selling it for maybe something like $200 and picking up a single speed.

I live in Davis, CA and there are a lot of bike shops here but they are quite expensive. Also, I tried checking Craigslist for around a month but I couldn't find anything worth it. So it looks like I either have to wait until mid June when final exams are over and I am back in the south Bay Area, or I could always order online.

I have around $300 to spend. Only real concern is I don't want it to be all flashy and colorful as I am not into that kind of thing. I just want a straight black/white/silver color with drops or bullhorns.

What would you guys recommend?
