Yup, see you on Orange Grove Ave! The incident that took place was a friend of mine at Sierra Madre and Santa Anita got pulled over. The "stop" became a point of contention over whether or not a foot was placed on the ground. I won't bore you with the minutia of it. When we returned to the scene, I wonder if the officer could even see from where he was sitting, to be honest. Either way, just better avoided.

Anyway, Sierra Madre is a great place but just be aware the cops are more cyclist-focused because of this history.
Sierra Madre is a nice town, and I've enjoyed many an Espresso at Bean Town. But the officer we had the pleasure of dealing with wasn't exactly courteous. The Montrose riders (or "The Peloton" as the group I ride with calls them) probably don't get pulled over and cited. Instead, casual recreational cyclists take the fall because the city got mad at the Peloton blowing the one busy intersection in town? To me that's a crooked excuse to generate revenue.

Not true, they will look you up write you up based on information you provide them. However I still blessed with young enough looks that I'll probably get ID'd for post-ride beers, so I'm carrying it anyway.
