I'll weigh in on the SRAM vs Shimano. Let me start out by saying I'm a total Shimano fan, (just upgraded the roadie to DA/Ultegra mix). Previously upgraded the Rockhopper to XT with a LX front dr and thought that was thee set up. Then I bought a Stumpy that came with SRAM X 9. I'll never go back to Shimano shifters/rear derailer. Nuff said.
