What distance is your ride to work?
Basically your training is in conflict. Shortest distance rides should be the most intense and longest rides should be at lowest intensity. You're doing too much quantity without quality.
To basically become a stronger rider on the flats and climbs. With the current ride schedule I think the miles have really helped but I also feel like I'm plateuing as people I ride with (who I'm marker as my current measuring stick) who are slightly faster and ride less miles seem to still be stronger and more consistent.
As far as ride schedule goes, l like I said it's really a matter of the situation versus me actually creating a ride plan. I can take out a few rides or modify my weekend rides but adding on a different ride will be tough.
The ride to work is 6 miles each way, plenty of stoplights and quite honestly I don't want to be a sweaty mess before or after work.
I do have short intense "rides" via the spinning class and long hilly ones on Saturday and sunday. Would making the Sunday ride a long low intensity one help?
