SKS full coverage P series fenders are the best I've used. Buy them with a designation 10 higher than your tire width. If you are running 27" X 1-1/4" tires = ~32c, so a P45 fender should work for those tires. Steel is too heavy for my taste, and I've had a set of aluminum fenders fatigue in half.

I love my Tubus Cosmo (SS) rack.
