I used to really get IRRITATED at the bus stops in the morning -- walk my kids there, and because the temp was below 50F, parents would not only drive their kids the ONE BLOCK to get there, but sit there with the engine idling to keep them WARM. .....and the parents in the cars were probably looking at you as some sort of dumbass, making himself and his children stand around in the freezing cold.
I spent many a frozen morning walking to the bus stop, and then having to wait for the school bus. Our children had it easy since their schools were no more than a few blocks from my wife's regular work route within easy walking or minimal extra driving distance to school, thanks to my wife's careful planing.
