Not so much the weather that has me concerned, it's that many school district have either shuttered or combined many of the bus routes, and closed nearby schools, leaving less transportation options for parents to chose from. If I had to get to the local high school from the home that I lived in when I was an HS student, my only options today are an hour walk, a twenty minute bicycle ride in peak urban traffic, buy or borrow a car, or hitch a ride with someone who has a car.
