Red rock is pretty climby yes. I would say the entire south half of that route is up pretty much all the way. The north half is going to be mostly down. Granted its probably only a few % in actual grade, but its all up to the mountains, then all down back to the strip. Traffic around the strip can be pretty gnarly, but if you're comfortable in it, it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, it'll probably well over 90 degrees. Take water. And money to buy more water.
