I ride a 2005 Trek 1200 with mostly Tiagra parts. Aluminum frame carbon fork. I ride recreationally and I commute occasionally. I've ridden a bike with downtube friction shifters, so I know that I couldn't live without that, but it's hard for me to justify spending several thousand bucks to just save a couple pounds. How would you justify a high end bike in my case?
