It puts things in perspective. Sora and Tiagra are nothing to sneeze at and it's refreshing perspective from pro mechanics on what works and what doesn't.
The fact they compare Sora and Tiagra to older Dura Ace is pretty impressive as trickle-down has really benefited these groups.

Also, Sora isn't exactly a cheap group in the scheme of things. But it's nice to know if you get it, you're not getting "crappy" parts- on the contrary.

Also found it interesting that Campy downgraded their lower lines purely for marketing reasons.
