^+1 to Markk900 and his suggestions. My townie is also set up with the VO bars and seat combo. For water bottles, I used the handlebar attachment that lets you put a regular watercage on it.

For cranks, look for one that comes with a ring already around the chainring teeth. Sugino Maxy are what I have. Good luck with your project !
