I think compliance (maintenance w regular cleaning & lubing) is more important that what you actually use.

edit: but this is very well stated by FBinNY: "the user's priorities will determine his preference. Tourists and commuters may want longer service life, mtn bikers may want something cleaner in dry conditions, or something that's more water resistant in muddy conditions. Some folks are clean fanatics, and others want maximum chain life. Given the difference in objectives, it's impossible for any one product or method to please everybody"
