In the past, when I had a job for an extended period at a remote location, I just got another bike and kept it there. Going spinning, using the hotel gym, doing squats, etc. are all good, but it's not riding, and if you want to ride, you need a bike.

Look at it this way. You're putting yourself through the stress and inconvenience of working remotely, so getting a bike and being able to ride is compensatory.

I'm looking at situation right now where I'll be working remotely for 4-6 months, and am already noodling out what bike I'll buy when I get there. I'll likely call ahead to few bike shops and have one set it up for me so it's ready when I arrive.
