I've ridden almost nothing except leather saddles for 35 years now. I'd rather be comfortable on a heavy saddle than uncomfortable on a light one. Regarding weight and speed, I can't push myself to go fast when my backside is hurting, light saddle or not. With the Brookes I'm comfortable and can ride as hard as I want.
