I regularly ride a small wheeled bike on a group ride because it fits in my trunk. One advantage of small wheels is being able to get deeper into "the pocket" when drafting. So i find it easier to stay with the group. Conversely when you take a pull at the front, the rider behind you can also get in a little closer.
When I get dropped on a climb, I know its not the bikes fault.
