There's something inherently elegant about the Bicycle.

And there's nothing strange about wanting to turn that elegance up to eleven.

My 90s hot rod has been fettled to within an inch of its life, and I can just stare at it for an hour or two if I have nothing better to do.

Its foundation* is almost finished, now I've had it for fifteen years; I just have to get hold of a carbon seatpost and shorten the seat tube by 7mm. To give you an idea how far I've gone with thing, after getting the notion of shortening the seat tube I had to put it off because I'd previously shortened the seatpost so much that I wasn't confident that 7mm less insertion was enough... naturally, the bottom of the post is cut at a 75° angle.

*I'll continue to throw nice parts at it; it's currently running Rival Doubletaps, RD and crankset, for instance.
