Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC

This is why I like to buy things from my LBS when I can as I can always inspect the product (especially tires) before buying it, regardless of what it is. Yes, it might cost a little bit more from an LBS, but then the time you spend returning the thing for a warranty related exchange to an internet seller could be just as much to cover that difference in pricing, and you will not know if the replacement coming will not have another or even the same problem(s).
It's also nice to support your LBS as they can also be a big help in the future when you can't quite figure out or fix something on your bike by yourself, especially if you happen to need a special expensive tool to do so. Plus, my experience had been that they would usually give occasional price breaks and freebies for small things like spokes and nipples to regular customers......
