If you can't tell the difference between 60 thou and 6 thou your in trouble.
Whatever you measured is clearly 60 thou, and bending any thickness of
steel 1/2" tape has more to do with it properties than its thickness.

Steel 1/2"/10mm tape is commonly used in packing, but its not stainless.

Why on earth do you need 24" to mount a light on that rack ?
