That's true. When touring in Atlantic Canada and the North-East US I was struck by the grimness of some of the rust belt towns in upstate NY. Utica was worse than Troy, I thought.
I went to "university" in Oswego. Talk about grim. And then there is the winter weather. All 9 1/2 months of it.
