I believe that at the time they made the 12g ultraflates, 16g unthreaded cartridges didn't exist. These came out later, possibly because innovations committed to a large purchase, so that's when they introduced the 16g ultraflates.

You might email innovations, and ask if the new cups fit your older head, and if so see if they'll sell you just the cup for a nominal price. The folks there are very nice, and may offer you a deal.

If not, I have a bunch of 16g ultraflates new in pkg and will make you a deal if you wish.
