Milk is NOT a healthy thing to drink but their marketing boards are very well funded and connected so bogus studies continue to gain traction in the media.
Skip the milk.
Post ride your body wants simple sugars and some BCAA. Considering the amount of salts in the modern Western diet most people have no need for electrolyte replacement except under extreme conditions.
Also skip the Gateraid. It's most colored sugar water. More empty calories.
Sorry, B-Drizzle, I must disagree. My great-greats came over from Sweden and homesteaded in Washington state, where they were farmers. Dairy has been part of my heritage by virtue of what they did. My line lives to be over 85 in every generation, and this is with all the milk, cheese and butter on the table. I'm not saying we live exclusively on it, but it is part of a healthy diet.
I have tried almond milk, which is ok, and soy milk, which is meh. Neither comes even close to tasting right on my cereal, let alone in my baking. That's like using olive oil on a cake mix - it ain't right.
Sure, there are politics involved, but I choose not to fret about that while I am spending 15% of my food budget on dairy.
Milk=good. Agree wholeheartedly on the Gatorade though.
