Thx for the tip even though the cost of a crosscheck fork is not all that much in the big picture, I'm scared to chop it! I've only been riding this bike for ~8mo now, and only a few weeks with the extra-goofy spacer stack since I lowered the stem. After maybe a year or two of riding at this stem height without ever seeing a need to change it, I'll probably get it cut.
