Of course it depends on the glue, but eons ago an Italian (maybe a Roman) showed me one of the most effective ways to get glue of my fingers --- olive oil. I guess any oil will do, and I now often use motor oil, or a certain chain lube to remove really tenacious stuff from my hands.

Yes, you'll need decent soap to get the oil off afterward.

If you're working at home, pretreat your hands with the stuff auto mechanic use and stuff will wash off more easily.

With practice, you can mount tubulars wearing white cotton gloves and not get a drop on them, or the rim.
