anyone use downhill cranks on a road singlespeed/fixie?

It seems like downhill (mtb) cranks could be ideal for a bombproof fixie or singlespeed.
with one problem: chainline. For example, the DH crank from Funn has chainline listed at 50mm or 57.5mm (presumably depending on whether chainring is mounted on outside or inside position). This would probably require a fair bit of respacing on a rear wheel, and wouldn't allow most flip-flop hubs.

Any thoughts?
