Vegas has loads of inexpensive luxury tour buses that haul tourists to the Grand Canyon and back, perhaps you can find one that will also take your bike. Once up that high, the heat should not be that much of a factor for a tour of the great national parks and monuments of the plateau.

I also read that review of the arm coolers/ sun sleeves with the latest miracle fabrics. I tend to take with a grain of salt the report that the reviewer could feel "cold flashes" along her arm as she rode; I'd like some double-blind testing and independent confirmation for something that seems to defy the laws of thermodynamics before I would cough up $45 for these. I do make my own out of ladies polyester knee socks from the 99 cent store in a variety of colors, including neon green, and putting a little water on the sleeve from my bottles does provide definite cooling (cotton would work even better in the heat) Maybe a separate thread on these sleeves is in order for those that have have used them to testify---I'm open to being convinced that they are worth that much moola!
