But why accept an inferior tire if better ones are available? I'm saying that <for us> the Supremes are not a good choice compared to Paselas or GP 4-seasons, or gatorskins for that matter (though we had sidewall failures with the latter like many others here). We do both touring (mostly not loaded, but sometimes loaded) and Sunday (!) morning rides. The OP asked advice, we gave it.
