The MIPS thing is pretty simple. There's an inner plastic layer (the yellow part) than can slide around relative to the standard foam layer. You can see how it's connected such that it can slide a cm or two.

Does that visor look like it would snap off pretty easy in a wreck? If it's stiff plastic, I'd ditch it.
