Bikes: Nothing amazing... cheap old 21 speed mtb

Almost ready. Just need a few tweaks and 600km in a weekend

There she be. Close to the final configuration on my new commuter/tourer.

Started with a 7 speed hybrid as a base and retrofitted Altus mtb shifters. This worked great at the rear, cause a few issues at the front.
Though it doesn't have the bosses I put a clamp on derailler and ziptied the cable to the frame. Shifts ok, but the road derailler I got from the old guy at the bike shop that resembled a recycling yard (best place for parts I've yet seen!) has different spacing to the shifter so I couldn't get a triple to work reliably. Had to tune out the granny.

This doesn't bother much except that I have 48/38 at the front and 15-28 at the back. Makes loaded climbs a mission! Plan on putting a compact 50/34 in the place of the triple and thus give me more speed on the top and a slightly easier climbing option. Tested it out with a 200km run

Not bad. Slightly better brake pads (wore them out descending at 65kmh) and a nicer chainring/crankset and I think my commuter/tourer ala cheap is ready.
