If you pay retail for a power meter you are in the lowest common denominator. There is nothing wrong with that. But for a certain numbner of folks, and I talk to them often, they think this is some magic wand that will make some European DS come knocking on the door. How do you think they got all those Walter Mitty's out to pay hard cash to run in the "Race to Replace"?
If you are a good rider, you either do not pay or you get serious deep discounts.
If you ride this stuff and think it is making a big difference in your riding, look around you on a weekend in your half hour plus two lap race becuase the majority of the ones I know that are in the 4-3 class are not using this stuff. But they somehow seem to finsinh in the top 5 or so pretty frequently.
rationalize your purchases to yourself. This is how all those "on-line" coaches make a living.
Now...are you in the lowest common denominator?
