I believe the XT M760 is one of the "Rapid Rise" (low normal) models that jimc101 mentioned. I think those would be weird to use with road levers, but technically should work. Anything billed as 9 speed should work in theory, as they all had the same cable pull ratio until Dyna-Sys came along. I use an M591 on one of my 10 speed road bikes.
