I consider myself fortunate I can still get around without a walker or wheelchair (sometimes I need my cane) and that I can still feel the fun bits. Cycling is still something I can do and something that my physician and physiotherapist recommend as long as I don't overdo it.
I always comment that I spin like a gerbil on crack and this is because I only have one good leg and a lower gearing and higher rpm lets me ride at a good clip without causing axial loading issues to my back... position on the bike is also really important so no upright riding cruisers for me.
