Looking at the OP's photo's, straight, two lanes going in each direction with a turn lane in the center, I'd have no problems riding on that road at all. At the very least, I can ride as fast as I want with out the worry of some yahoo pulling out and blocking the sidewalk, possibly causing a collision. On the roads like the OP posted, I take the lane and make motorists change lanes to pass.
