As I said before, I do sometimes use the sidewalk on similar roads in suburban areas. But in the photo, there's almost more intersections/driveway than there is sidewalk - It can be done safely, but not at any reasonable speed.
Um,.....these pics were taken at 7:30 PM , so don't assume it's the norm.

My usual Noon to 1:30pm lunch run has a LOT more traffic! I'm often out at 5:00pm to 6:00pm,....and it's CRAZY during rush hour. The pedestrian traffic rarely picks up much at all,....the road traffic certainly does.
