LOL Been there, done that. I've got a chain-checker tool, but I regard it as very rough. I measured my chain about a week ago. At 7000 miles, it had no wear at all showing in two spots and in the third spot it showed almost 1/32" of elongation. I'll probably change it before the big tours in the fall.
