I'm new to cycling, but from when I looked for mine, I kept hearing the Trek 7.2 fx was the go to. I bought a Giant Escape, simply because of price point. I liked how it rode, but I liked the Trek too. The Giant is cheaper and felt just as good to me, and I've had it for a few months and like it very much. I know this doesn't help, but take a look at the Escape if you can as another option.
