Like with freewheels, it's normal to have some wobble, but it would be a good idea to check if the freehub attachment bolt is tight next time you repack the wheel bearings. It takes a 10mm allen key.
Thanks! I was serious when I said I've never had a bike with a freehub/cassette before. Yeah, I'm a Luddite...
The current rear wheel's axle doesn't fit the frame - The frame has to be spread to get it in there, so I'm suspecting that something isn't tightened down right, thus making the entire axle width too great. It wobbles like a bearing isn't tight or something like that. I haven't even started playing with that bike since I have other 'priority' bikes in the que. The PO also used JB Weld to hold the SunTour Power-Thumb shifters to the handlebars -- AAAaaauuuugh! WTF???
Well, even if this bike turns out to be a total bust, at least I came away with a bunch of parts that are worth more than I paid for the whole bike - the Blackburn rear rack the seller threw in with the deal as an 'extra rack' is worth over half what I paid for the whole bike!
