The only time wet lube really makes a mess is when you overdo it (as most people do).
I have been using Shimano Slippery Spitt, which I like a lot but tends to attract dirt and get messy. I can't find it anywhere, so I was looking for a replacement product. I wonder if the WD-40 wet stuff would be less messy. They say it's meant for wet and muddy conditions, which rarely applies to most of my bikes. Have you ever tried the Park CL-1 stuff ?
