Wow. A lot of food for thought! Just an aside: I am a pro painter (since I was in college in '68). I also own a machine and fabrication shop and maintain my own spray booth. I farm out plating and powder-coating; everything else is done in my own facility, which also includes the photo cove. I used to be the proprietor of an antique car resto business, so bikes are a natural segue and much more rewarding as my attention span grows shorter to match my rolled pants...
Who do you get to do the plating? That's the big holdup with a couple of my projects. Chrome plating work is hard to find and rediculously expensive.
