6 feet tall, 167.8... I was at 173 about a month ago and to get ready for climbing Mount Ventoux, I wanted to drop to 165. That should be worth approximately 10 watts equivalent on the 4 miles of 10% grade section. The other advantage of lower weight is heat rejection. It seems that my power goes up as I get lighter. Of course, there is a point of diminishing returns. When I trained with the Russians that ran the national team, they wanted me between 167 and 170 pounds. I found that is a great weight range for me. I am spending more time in the gym lately working upper body to make sure that I do not lose muscle mass.
